Some cages

Some cages aren’t made of bars of steel

They’re made of rays of light and hope

As I reach to touch the untouchable love

My arms stretch and stretch until I’m numb

And my arms turn into bars

And the shadows between the lights that blind me

Cage me in

It’s not so much that I found real love so unnatural

But I fell into that dark chaos of unknowing

Which way to turn

First, it was my friends that told me it wasn’t love

Then, my body

Then, my heart
