All the dreams I had
On the commute train in and out of my suburban hometown
Watching the railroad tracks converge and diverge
Evolve into backyards and graffiti
The songs I listened to about how I was going to be a better person tomorrow
Smarter, richer, more powerful
The dreams never added up to anything
When I got my chance to escape it came by chance
There was no cause and effect
No underlying motive
Just because I could
You don’t need a reason to leave only a reason to stay in society
Following these rules
Going to the office
Smiling in the morning
