I try to balance precariously over opposites like intensity and boredom
You break open the complacency in my heart
And demand my love
Like the extraction of a large seed from a fruit
You pull me with your fingers, clean me, wash me, hold me
Put me in soil and cover me with night
Occasionally drown me in saltwater
Expose me to sunlight
Have I been asleep my whole life?
Maybe it’s silly
Or maybe it is a moment that will change our lives
