I am not blind

I can see what every woman sees

Your face

The sadness in your eyes

Of irresistible purity

And the smile that melts it away

I have never seen this until this moment

Not in all the countries I have been

In my solitary journey.

I am an outsider here

How can I be a part of your world?

You, who can do all the things I could never do

When I hide, you radiate

When I say no, you say yes

Every time he looks at me I am created again

And I wonder for a moment if this is the place where love comes from

All the poetry in the world could not convey the emotions from your one look

Or the tension of your arm

The shadow of one step

And you say I couldn’t possibly love you

I am too passive and free

But I am a humble woman

Who would never claim to own the sun

But still you say I am too high above you

And you fear I might fly away

But you have roots that I haven’t

You understand home and I do not have one

If you see my life from my eyes

You have everything I need and I could never find alone
