I think it is a common misconception in popular culture that love is a dangerous thing that could break your heart and there is always a great risk. I think a lot of young people romanticize relationships as a form of gambling, just because it feels so good yet so unpredictable, but I don’t think any mature person has definitively stated the facts, maybe because not every older person has figured it out. Actually if you are able to get hurt because of someone else’s actions, you’re probably not yet ready for a relationship. It’s only when there is absolutely no amount of rejection that could hurt you are you actually ready for a healthy connection.
