Full circle

The Bribri gave me a protection rope

It is half red for the heart and blood and inner protection

And half yellow for the sun and light and outer protection

And as a bracelet the circle makes the protection complete

One day I’ll be brave enough to wear my longing on my skin

Longing for freedom and justice

And I will come full circle

Between where the pain ends

And the place where home begins
